About a week back (see my first post in this thread), I said if FAIR lobbyist Brian Bilbray wins the special election in Calif. it will galvanize the anti-immigration sources. This really was a bellweather election and the folks in the 50th district made their choice: a restrictionist lobbyist over a liberal non-lobbyist who favored the Senate immig plan. Whatever the dynamics of the race or the constituency, this is what it boils down to.

Plus, now Tancredo adds another House member to his immigration "reform" (read Restrictionist) caucus, making the Comprhensive Reform even more difficult to achieve this year.

Well, sure enough, you saw Dobbs touting Bilbray today. All the Restrictionist media also made a big deal out of this (Fox, Wash Times, etc). Rep Duncan Hunter, another house restrictionist, also hardened his position on a compromise, saying it reflected the position of the House Leadership. Soemtimes I think this is a deliberate attempt on part of the Republican Party to mobilize their core voters- Repub House candidates who show they can oppose their President on Immigration will be rewarded with votes from the republican base. This is how Repubs will use immigration as a wedge issue this year, mobilize their base, and try to retain control of the house when almost every other issue (Iraq war, ethics, deficits) is against them. Bush will probably continue to promote immig compromise till the July 2 election in Mexico, and let it go after a Calderon win. Meanwhile, the conference committtee will be appointed, but there will be no compromise this year as House Repubs use this as a wedge issue to get their voters out.
What this means for us is that IV should now start looking for an alternative legislative vehicle for Immigration Relief (which they probably are already). I know nothing can be moved until CIR officially dies, but we should do the groundwork on future efforts so no time is wasted when CIR does die in late july. I wish I am proven wrong, but I suspect there is a less than 5% chance of passing an Immigration Bll similar to the Senate version this year. I'm not usually downbeat, but frankly this is what I see happening.

The reason my h1b was denied because the consultant showed that I would be working for him instead of working for client. I suspect he didn't respond well for the RFE earlier in the case.
Is it possible to submit a motion for reconsideration by a new employer(when I find one in the next month or so)? To make things worse, I am having a hard time concentrating on possible upcoming interview because of my h1b visa denial. Pls tell me what options do I have if I am made an offer by a private(profit) employer. BTW my master is in comp. engg and I completed my masters in Dec 06.
Its really disheartening to wait one more year to start work along with my increasing debts. Its bad being job-searching-graduated-student in USA with this situation.

They posted it sometime back: But this does not talk about applications like II40 that were filed last year and still pending for some people in NSC. I140 for EB2 NIW is as late as August 01, 2006.

How can you have an expired I94 and valid H1B? It is technically not possible.
When your H1B expires when you are in the US and you apply for an extension of the H1B along with an extension of the stay of the person(s) since they now hold this status, you get a I797 where the right bottom part is your NEW I94. You are supposed to staple this to the old I94 in your passport and surrender the same when you fly out of the country to a non contiguous territory
That is how you were able to travel!!!!!!!
As for Automatic revalidation here is the link to the State Dept site:

etc., companies to fund for securing all state borders and states from bomb blasts from terrorists.They do not know how much they want to collect. Still counting , because India had heavy losses because of these blasts.
I am sure India will do something similar if more than 50% employees of these companies are NON-INDIANS....

enggr: You have completed the course in 2000 (per course completion certificate), but your degree was awarded in 2002 after you completed a supplemental exam. Since the position requires a candidate who qualifies for EB2, USCIS will deny your 140 petition. IMHO, you will have to start your green card journey from scratch.

I understand your mother filed for I-140, but did she also file your I-485 and advance parole? If so, as soon as you get your AP, leave the country and return..as a Parolee. Then apply for FAFSA..

Maybe some of us might be aware on the importance of umbilical chord and cord blood. They are life savers as they contain stem cells which can be used to treat hematopoietic and genetic disorders.
Let me tie this to an important activity that happens in southern part of india (maybe its prevalent too in entire india - not sure though).
Whenever a baby is born, the umbilical chord is cut and a clip is put up in the baby's navel end with the umbilical chord part extending out. In a matter of few days the external portion will heal and fall off.
This is then taken to a goldsmith who in turn stuffs this into a small golden (or silver depending upon one's capacity) and seals them air tight (mind this air tight) using fire. this is then tied along with a thread and is generally worn around the hips of babies.
Maybe our ancestors knew that this part of tissue might help in healing some disorders for the babies. Who knows better than them. Many of us indians would have worn this without much aware of its importance.
Hope that I have submitted a informative post here.

Yes, it is for TSC. And i did check . Thats how i realized they are approving AP and EAD for the early June filers. And i assumed my AP will be approved in couple of weeks. But never thought my July filed EAD will be tied along with my June filed 485. I don't see any AP or EAD approved for even early July filers in atleast for India.

Also, keep in mind that CIS has said they are coming out with a regulation on AC21 sometime soon. There is no telling how favorable that will be.

Folks, wanted to share the feedback from my immigration attorney, the attorney office which did my h1b, h4, eb3 etc, it is a pretty big firm and has good reputation.
The attorney clearly told me, that as long as there is no salary and if it is volunteering then we can go ahead whether it is profit making or non-profit it does not matter.
Now im still confused what do i do......
to be on safer side i may suggest going for non-profit org.
