I saw the following status on I-131
Application Type: I131, APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT
Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On November 21, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
Does it mean that I-131 is approved?

We have a very similar case as yours...No FP and RFE on AP....
our 485 is NSC>CSC>NSC ...hence it is slow...my lawyer asked to wait for another month (60 from notice days)
RFE on AP is processed at NSC>CSC...
which means my 485 is back in NSC and AP is still at CSC....no connection between two applications.

Looks like your PD is current. You might get your GC anytime. That is another factor I would consider if your GC gets approved before you get married.
Filing six months in advance seems to be a better idea.

Got medical RFE at 485 stage.Here are RFE details :
The civil surgeon's signature on the supplement Form to I-693 submmitted with your application to adjust status is photocopy and is therefore unacceptable.Your original Supplement Form to I-693 is hereby returned to you in the enclosed sealed envelope.Take this letter and your enlclosed Supplemental Form I-693 to the civil surgeon who administered your vaccinations.ONLY THE CIVIL SURGEON SHOULD OPEN THE SEALED ENVELOPE.The civil surgeon must verify that he or she completed the Supplemental Form to I-693 and place it in a sealed envelope before returning it to you.

I think we can get some financial support from Housing Market !
Facts:

The housing market is slowing down significantly and there are millions of unsold homes out there.
More than 1/2 million people are stuck in the green card process. I am sure
most are waiting for green card before they buy their house and make longtime commitment.
I think we are a "Frozen" pool of customers for the Housing Market.
500000 H1B X 200000 (average house price) = 100 billion dollar market is just
inaccessible just because of retrogression.
I think we should convince them to help us FINANCIALY.
Please IV Core members take this idea seriously and at least
SEND A LETTER TO National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) president.

As tax returns are filed online now (I used turbotax).... do u need to attach all the 1099s (1099 div, 1099 misc etc) that u get from bank, brokers etc to 1040 forms???

I started the new thread and poll "Separate bill for legal immigrants from CIR provisions", with the intention to help realise and pursue what appeard to me as a option/opportunity that might help us legal immigrants. It just seems to me from media and other forums that cir may take a long long time.
I donot have complete knowledge of the process and timing of how legislation and lobbying works. Educating myself from aritles and posts on this and similar forums.
It has been almost 5 years since I started my gc process and am really looking for ways that might make it faster for people like me and future applicants going forward and I really appreciate what IV is doing in this direction.
I apologize if my poll, thread or intentions came across as anything but the above. Also, I will change my username, it has "iv" and may have lead others to interpret my messages as from IV.

You have be waiting too much for your EB3 approval, I read that Chicago is working faster than Atlanta. Any update?
My company submited my PERM application for a EB2 position on december and I still waiting.

Absolutly No. H4 is a non-immigrant status where emplyment previlage is prohibited. If you want to use EAD or to accept any employment, you should be in a status that allows you to work legally. Therefore AOS is a status that allows you to work. One can have "dual intent"; however one can not have "dual status" at a same time. Therefore once you use EAD you automatically switch to AOS status from H4 status. EAD is a benefit to AOS status people not for H4.

If your appeal for I-140 & I-485 in process, you are legal, and if you have unexpired EAD, you can work.
If you have H1 renewed (less than 6 years) you can work irrespective of I-485 appeal result. If you are more than 6 years in H1B, you have to go back, if your appeal (MTR) is denied. (more than 6 years of extension is based on approved I-140)

According to the following document from USCIS they issued receipts for approx 150K applications for AOS in sept. So my estimate of the total back log is
June filers 75k
July - 25k
August 200k
Sept 150k
Oct 50K
Total = 500k
