Even if the amount is just $4000, if he win the case you will have to pay his lawyer fee too. I would suggest you to resolve this by giving the actual reason. He cannot bind her to the job for 4 years.

Actually I had suggested a phone/fax campaign to Durbins office. The Anti-immigration/protectionist organizations such as Programmers Guild have targeted this senator for a reason.....but no one is getting our point of view across to him.
I don't think he's anti-immigrant, but the fact is no one from our community has reached out to him in an organized manner.

One of my friends AOS got rejected just because his attorney rescheduled his interview. Somehow, USCIS local office did not acknowledge his request for interview reschedule and they sent a rejection letter saying that, he did not appear for the interview so they are rejecting his application. So the bottomline is 1) Try your best to not to reschedule it 2) If you have to, make sure that USCIS acknowledges your application to reschedule it.

I heard that if you register a LLC in California every year you have to around $800 tax fee, weather you do a business or not, is it true?

Folks,
What is the best and most cost effective way to send some money home ?
Till last year I was using the service from icici and was under the belief that the exchange rate was pretty decent. the service I believe was never free as they make up for service fee though the exchange rate.
Today for example when I check on icici it says they will give a rate of 47.63 per $ which I believe means around half a rupee less per $ ?
so for $1000 they are essentially charging Rs 500 (aound $10)
I beleive previously they were giving around 25 paise less per $ and now it looks like it is 50 paise less per dollor ?
Western union charges $15 and also gives a lower exchange rate than icici.
So would that mean ICICI isthe best cost effective one ?
Ideas ?

I-131 form is used for issuing re-entry permits, refugee travel & advance parole documents.
AOS applicants are issued advance parole document. The biometrics rule is only for those individuals who are issued re-entry & refugee travel documents.

The instructions include changes effective March 5, 2008 that require applicants for re-entry permits and refugee travel documents to provide biometrics (e.g., fingerprints and photographs) at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for background and security checks and to meet requirements for secure travel and entry documents containing biometric identifiers.
Q. May an I-131 applicant for a re-entry permit or refugee travel document complete biometrics outside of the United States?
A. Form I-131 instructions provide guidance for certain persons who are abroad at the time of filing to visit a U.S. Embassy or consulate for fingerprinting, although all applicants are urged to file before leaving the United States. Since certain overseas offices have the discretion to accept and adjudicate applications for refugee travel documents, although it is not mandatory that they do so, an applicant for a refugee travel document may complete biometrics outside of the United States, but is encouraged to wait to travel until his or her biometrics have been collected and the document delivered. As discussed earlier, certain overseas USCIS offices may, in their discretion, adjudicate Form I-131 filed for a refugee travel document (but not re-entry permits), where the applicant has failed to apply while in the U.S. (see 8 C.F.R. � 223.2(b)(2)(ii)). However, applicants for refugee travel documents should not count on the overseas offices necessarily agreeing to adjudicate Form I-131 in all cases, particularly where it is evident that the individual could have applied while in the U.S. and attended his or her biometrics appointment. I was just preparing for the wrost case scenario. So thought to get the experience letter of my prior H1B. But right now, I am unable to get hold of any superivisor or co-worker. So is there any other option to get the experience letter.

10 days back My employer called me and asked provide some more documents , so that they can appeal to USCIS....
I was working on getting those documents, I was in constant touch with my employer...
two days back , he suddenly called me and said that as amandment is denied I have to leave US with in next two weeks and they don't want to appeal against the RFE denyl

I like them all Gary, but agree with Chris about the cloning out that bright white rock , or whatever it is, in the first one. Also, unless you've been there before, it's difficult to capture the enormity of those rocks. The footpath catches my eye in the second photo which gives some perspective on where you are positioned. It looks like you are a quite a bit above and working your way down to the path. The 3rd pic looks like a crop? of the upper-center of the 2nd pic? And lastly, can I apply for a job where you work so I can travel too!

Are you sure about this? My wife is on H1-B right now having EAD and AP both and she wants to quit her job. So I am planning to switch her from H1-B to H4. Will that abandon her I-485 filed as a dependent?

My lawyer filed the I-485, EAD and AP package for me and my wife. She put a G-28 notice for each application (with our and her signatures). She missed signing the AP G-28 for my wife. I asked her about this. She said it should be fine. They would not consider her notice of representation for this particular case, and would mail the AP approval directly at our home address.
I hope we are fine and our application doesn't get rejected since we had one check for all the applications.

This sound like a good idea...our first option is to attend the rally. But if for some reason we are not able to make it...we can identify a place in all the states on the same day to show support for the DC rally.. I tried to find someone in Buffalo...but noone responded..dont know whether I will be able to attend the rally in DC.
I know some of you will be attending the Rally in DC on Sep 18th.
But most wont be attending the rally in DC on the 18th. Wouldnt it be good if the people who are not able to attend the DC rally conduct a rally in Texas at the same day.
This way, there will be a multi pronged effect. In fact, it would have an even greater effect if simultaneous rallies are held in other places too. Like
West Coast (Bay area )
Midwest (Chicago)
Texas (one of the major cities - Dallas, Austin or Houston)
Think of all the local media attention this gets & also the ripple effect into national media.
Any thoughts ??

In my particular case, when i signed the contract, the employer agreed to pay for my GC process. But as usual, My employer also did not follow the contract and when my labor was approved, he asked me to pay for the Labor and take care of GC application fees hence forth. I was kind of surprised and did argue with my employer. But Employer gave me an option to leave his company and move to a diff company if needed. But since the labor was approved and the current project was going fine, i thought of sticking with the company and agreed on paying the GC fees.
I dont know if we can really go and harass our employer to re-imburse the GC expenses as they know what they are doing and what are the consequences if they go back on their words..I think they know pretty well about all the loopholes in this immigration process.

You should be ok to re-enter when you have a valid AP (and valid visa/EAD if they ask) even though if you changed the jobs. I think it is risky though. We never know when will the rules change so its safe to file AC21. I did file AC21 but they never opened my AC21 file. They sent an RFE to my old employer(internal attorney) for employer letter after 1year of filing AC21. I had couple of LUDs so I thought they were for AC21 but not really. So strange things may happen. Some officers at port of entry may be too curious about these issues though if you have valid APs. They shouldnot deny the entry but you may have to go through the waiting. So my suggestion is do not delay AC21.
