I called my Civil Surgeon yesterday and asked her if she was willing to fill out a new I-693 form because it has been changed. Well, she was willing to fill out but said the old data (May 2008) is not valid, precisely TB test/Blood work/Physical exam. I thought it was ridiculous because all she had to do was validate her own results from the last exam. She was open for validating any vaccination records but not her own tests that she conducted.
I really don't want to spend $200/person again for the tests which she has already conducted. Anyways. I guess I'll have to pay her and get the new forms signed.
Is anyone in the same situation?

I dont see how they can ascertain whether case is complicated without opening it and doing some analysis. It would be only possible if they just hang a case in between after they open it or else one way is by weight (joking).
They might have a weighing scale and lesser weight of the application simpler it is (HAHAHA)
we can only guess
i would assume cases that are not substitute labor, porting priotity date, cross chargeability, clear birth certificates, clear employer verification letter, no namecheck issues, no fingerprinting issues, etc

PA dmv sucks..dont worry ...try next day or evening in the same time form diffrent officer...they are some time stupid and they don't know what they are talking..
Take all necessary documents try more times..some officers gives some dont..becuase some of my friend has same issue..they got it...from diffrent officers...dont worry
I agree with what gcganapati said. Some of folks in these centre's have no idea about these docments. I had mine renewed twice before. First time, I did renew online and they sent a receipt that I took to the DMV center, no problem at all.
Second time, as we want to change the address, they started asking all the documents like 485 receipt notice, EAD, proof of address. It took half hour for them to check in their system (God knows what they are checking) and issued the license.
If its very urgent, try other DMV center's or pay the fee online and take the receipt and get the license renewed at the DMV center.

Yes, there is only one queue, you go ahead and ask them for the status of your application, it's passed 15 month period.
Because of Fragomen audits the DOL audit queue is very big and after announcing dol that they will release the special audited cases to regular queue, but they did nothing as of now.

I have also applied for the canadian PR 1.5 months ago. Yesterday I got a letter from canadian consulate to sit for IELTS as I am clamming 16 points on language skill with supporting documents. Now, I do not want to sit for IELTS..is there any way out? Do you guys know any small consulting firm in canada who can give me a HRSDC approved job offer? I will not mind to work for them for a year if I get my PR (it's better then waiting for GC for another 10 years)...

Arjun, thanks for clarifying those things. I have a couple of final questions before I book my trip if you could please help me again.
(1) My first H1B was valid from Oct 2004 to Oct 2007, and I got my stamp in Dubai. The stamp expired on Oct 2007. My second H1B is valid from Oct 2007 to Oct 2010, and I am planning to go to Halifax for the stamping. I have stayed at the same company all this time. Does "revalidation" include my situation?
(2) When leaving for Canada, they did not take your white I-94 card (stapled to passport) at the US airport. When arriving in the US, they replaced your old I-94 with a new I-94 at the US airport. Please confirm that all this is correct.

--RFE has been answered with sufficient documents and awaiting a response.

I read/hear that since there is a 2 month period with no paystubs, I might get an approval for I-797 but without I-94. In such a case what actions should be taken.
Please advice.

is a TB skin test neccessary even if you tell the doc you've had a history of positive TB tests? do i have to prove i've had a history of postive TB test for the doctor to remark that on i-693..or can he just remark that without evidence and go on my word

If I were you, I would take start with something "less technical" in the IT field like testing. You can learn a tool or two (example: Mercury, Rational etc) and basic methodology about planning, executing and monitoring testing. You have your background in HR and can use your functional skills to add value to any HR enterprise implementation.
You can then move to more technical side of the IT fields with configuration of any of the major enterprise tools like others have suggested - Peoplesoft, SAP etc.

It is generally a good idea to go to any CBP and get the date put in. It is a pretty easy process. When the CBP folks say that an exit in 6 months in fine I guess they are correct in the sense that you have to stay illegally for over 180 days to be barred from reentry.
Anyway this should be pretty easy except that you have to find the time to go to your nearest international airport. For some it could be a 4 hour + drive!
