True, like I still have a EDD letter talks about my first case for GC was filled on Aug. 2001 as wanted to immigrant but what is the use, as I have to file new one as even if I have transferred my employment to my parent companies client, USCIS has no rule to transfer labor process or priority dates until has approved i140, they requires to file new one which surly takes time. And I am sure mostly people completed even 10 years of working waiting for GC have the same issue.

Thats not true. My PD is March 2005. When my PD comes, I have to apply for EAD whereas others will get GC. Oh such a screwed up system.

If Democrats win the House (which they most probably will - maybe with a small majority): Would then there be a Compromise on the CIR which the Republicans didnt even want to talk about ?
Someone in this thread pointed out that in the lame duck session is held with the current members, that would mean we wouldnt have a compromise in the lame duck session.
Then the new Congress would come in and the Bills would have to be passed in the Senate all over again, right? ( Just asking as I dont know the whole process).

If you think it is that ridiculuous, then you should tell the core members that. They did ask us to call him on the last day of LD. There is nothing wrong in writing to him. In fact, you are making a comparison that is not correct.
Actually, it was an exceptional situation. As you are well aware of, we had to get an unanimous consent if the skil bill were to pass in the LD, so, we needed to have Session's approval. To deflect the situation, he just said that his office hadnt received any positive comments.. When we ended up jamming his phones and gave all the positive comments, what came out of that, nuthing.. he did not budge from his stance.. It was just a ploy and even if the entire US of A had called him, he would not have changed his stance.. He had to score brownie points from his supporters. He knows that the Skil bill will be passed next year, and may be some form of CIR even.. He can then blame it on the democrats and stand for re-election in 2009 with complete support from his supporters..
Its all a gimmick for votes. This is politics, same thing in every country, just more sophisticated here...

Lets not waste our energy on those who don't believe USCIS has done anything wrong or are content with the current state of immigration....lets focus on getting more and more support to this movement.
Ohh..BTW..i had another experience that I would like to share....Today, I went to renew my Driver's license which is expiring next week. I have already applied for H1-B extension. They did not renew my DL and sent it for immigration verification to SAVE(Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements). This process takes up to 3 months and till that time I have to stay without a DL. Worst part, when i went for my DL renewal last time..they did the same and I had to go thru the hardship without a DL for 3 months. I live alone..so imagine how I will live without driving here in US. I have been in US for 6 years and have 6 years of clean driving and immigration history.
I have another friend who went thru the same last year, his condition was even worse as his wife was pregnant at that time. The poor guy had to ask his friends for favors and hire cabs to take his wife to hospital for 3 months.
All of the above, because of the broken immigration system. If we don't raise a voice now,...when will we !!!!!

This reply shows that because no visa is available they cannot accept the applications. If courts find any mistake Judge may order to correct the procedure. It is tough for courts to order USCIS to accept I485 when Visa number is not available. In case court dismisses the lawsuit then DOS and USCIS will make those happenings in July as a precedence. It needs to be seen how the drama unfolds

As you have efiled your EAD the FP you have received might not necessarily mean the FP for 485, it could be just for EAD. Gurus any comment!!
I am a July 2nd Filer, and have not gone through FP till now.
I e filed on 11th May for EAD /AP renewal for myself and spouse.
LUD on 14 th May. Receipt notices received 16 th may.
Got FP notice only for myself on 19 th May.

I am happy to see some beginings here.. although we have had many many threads before for this kind of initiative but I see some difference here... Like some others said we need to draft an action plan from A to Z here (understood that it may not be exactly what we would be following over time but), we need some roadmap to follow to reach our target.
I like the idea of collecting info about who is willing to contribute and I am all for it.
btw, option 1 is not an option for me.

Group of EB3 & EB2 folks should take an appointment with DOS Chief first and then with USCIS's Chief. How can we do this ?We will discuss our concerns or interpretations and changes to work towards to clear backlogs or increase Quotas or Visa Recapture..etc. I am in for any group's concerns though I am in EB3.Category does not matter. India is the hardest hit in EB based Immgiration. Let me know How we can get to the attention of the TOP/Key Persons.
